Who would be against more leisure time and a juicy profit for the tech sector?

Designed to work

Human well-being is much more than just economic interest and there is a limit to how much leisure time we can handle.

We are made to work and there is a dignity that comes from being gainfully employed and contributing to society as a whole, as well as providing for our own and our families needs.

Leisure too

There is also a natural cycle to work and leisure that used to be respected in Europe and the USA, six days of work and one of rest.

Riches for the few

The juicy profit for the tech sector will be confined to just a few of the very large firms that are behind much of the push into AI applications and who have most of the top talent as well as the massive funds to conduct research. Facebook – or its now parent company Meta, plan to spend $billions on developing the “Metaverse” but that technology is likely to do considerable harm to humanity whilst no doubt boosting the companies income and profits.
